The EII Support Levy – What You Need to Know
From April 2024, a new charge called the EII Support Levy was introduced. This levy funds government support for Energy Intensive Industries and is applied to all licensed electricity suppliers, who are expected to pass it on to customers.
At present, suppliers are still deciding how to recover these costs. Approaches may vary, meaning charges could appear either as part of your fixed price renewal, as monthly adjustments, or even as backdated charges.
What this means for you:
- Watch for updates or notices from your supplier.
- Check how this new charge is reflected in your bills.
- Be aware that renewal quotes may or may not include the levy.
- We’ll keep you updated as suppliers confirm their methods of applying this cost.
